The progress of mankind began with the beginning of agriculture, and until then nomadic humans began to settle in many parts of the world and it grew into many cultures. With the advent of agrarian culture came the advent of private property, family systems, and social systems. Before the Industrial Revolution, everyone lived a life based on agriculture. But the material conditions that arose with the advent of industrial culture changed human life. The position which was held by peasantry until then, slowly being extended to the industrialists. The man who had worked hard to make a living and was confined to a small community as a family was exposed to new possibilities of enjoying life.
Unlike in the old days when agriculture, farmers and labor were glorified, as people shifted to effortless labor, agriculture became the occupation of the uneducated who could not find other jobs. The living conditions of the farmers began to deteriorate as traders and others began to exploit the small farmers who had to engage in farming without any other means of livelihood or management. If you could have lived comfortably if you had land years ago, today you need a government job or enterprise to live.
Everyone has an equal right to live comfortably with the natural resources and other living conditions of this earth. Even life on this earth is based on mutual cooperation. Since food is essential for the survival of all, shouldn’t those who produce food be given more consideration and respect? For those who sit in air conditioned rooms and work with or without all the luxuries, make theses comforts possible – should thank to the hard work of these hard-working peasants and laborers in the sun and rain. Isn’t this working class really feeding the people of this world? Recognize that it is the responsibility of those working in other service and industrial sectors to think for their well-being without exploiting them.
The world will not be severely affected if all other sectors cease to function, but if the agricultural sector ceases to exist, the lives of the people of this world will be miserable.Though other manufacturing and service sectors around the world, including factories have been at a standstill for more than a year due to the epidemic of corona, and we have realized the price of farmers when food items come home unaware of hunger.
The world is interdependent, and the world will become a paradise only when the working conditions of the majority change to allow the minority to live comfortably. Entrepreneurs should set aside a good portion of their profits for the welfare of the working class. If the attack of viruses like corona continues, we may have to reach out to the farmers or join them in the soil. The peasants are, in fact, the uncrowned kings of this world.
